Temples of Abu Simbel:
The tour starts at 3:00 am when an expert tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo and transfer you to Cairo Airport for a 5:00 am flight to Aswan, arriving at 6:30 am. Upon arrival, you’ll meet your guide holding a sign with your name, then drive south of Aswan (approximately 3 hours) in a private, air-conditioned vehicle to visit Abu Simbel.
The two Temples of Abu Simbel, masterpieces of ancient Egypt, showcase the grandeur of the New Kingdom. Rescued from flooding by a joint effort of the Egyptian government and UNESCO, the Temple of Ramses II is dedicated to the universal gods Ptah, Re-Horakhty, Amun-Re, and Ramses II himself. The Temple of Queen Nefertari, also known as the Temple of Hathor, symbolizes unity between Ramses II, Nefertari, Hathor, and the Sun God.
You’ll spend around 3 hours exploring these remarkable sites before returning to Aswan and then flying back to Cairo. The tour concludes with a drop-off at your hotel in Cairo or Giza.
